Fun in the Sun

Tis the time of year for sprinklers in the backyard and trips to Papaw and Grammy's pool. With the heat and the boys love of the water, we have been enjoying these treats of summer. Lucas and Adam have been swimming or playing in the water almost every day this week, since all the boys "sitters" have been taking advantage of the weather as well. Lucas is now jumping into the pool and going under. He can maneuver any where he needs to go with his puddle jumper on. Adam is independently floating and is jumping in and going under as well, but not quite as energetically as Lucas, but that's to be expected. Last year about 30 minutes was as long as the pool would keep their attention and even then it was hanging on to Mommy and Daddy most of time. This year after 90 minutes of independent fun, we had to drag them out of the pool. More fun in the sun to come for us this year, especially since it's only June :)

Girls win gold at Nexstar!!

The girls attended their first competition of 2007 this weekend in St. Louis, Mo. They competed at the Nexstar Regional Talent Competition with 6 routines. Here's the results and a couple of pics. Great Job, girls!!

• Amanda, Emily S, Alex, & Emily B. -- Shake a Tail Feather got a Gold Medal and 1st place 9 yr Old Jazz Small Group

• Lindsey -- I am a Queen got a Gold Medal
• Lindsey, Brooke & Sara-- Ain't No Other Man got a Gold Medal

Congratulations to MD Marching Band

Brooke, Sara, & Lindsey competed this year with the Dance Cats and Mater Dei Marching Band. They made school history by earning a spot at the State Finals. The band placed 8th after marching in the dome. Brooke even made the paper. Congrats on a job well done, ladies!!!

Black Betty performs at Fall Fest

Sara & Brooke gave a fantastic performance on Tuesday night on Franklin Street. They had some very tough competition but came out on top. The girls will compete in the finals on Friday at 7PM. Congrats girls!!!!

Green Eggs & Ham Perform at Fall Fest

Emily & Amanada did an excellent job dancing on Monday night at the Evansville Fall Festival. I think they had the loudest crowd in the Jr. Division :)

Fall Festival

The girls will be dancing at the Fall Festival again this year. Green Eggs & Ham will be performing Monday evening at 8PM. Black Betty will be on Tuesday at 7PM. All your applause, screams, and support will be greatly appreciated. Good Luck Girls!!

Indiana State Fair

Emily & Amanda did an excellent job competing at the State Fair for the first time. The floor was slick and we saw a lot of people slip and fall including us :) The girls had a good time even though they did not place.

Vanderburgh County Fair

The girls all competed at the Vanderburgh County Fair. Mission Temple Fireworks Stand placed 2nd in the Senior Dance Group category.

Emily Schmitt and Amanda Blankenberger competed at their first county fair and won 1st place in the Junior Dance Group category. They will be competing at the Indiana State Fair on Sunday August 13th. Good Luck Girls!!!!
